KPI Participants
Definition This indicator counts the cumulative total number of individuals taking part in sport and recreational physical activity who are not active members of the club. The figure will keep growing as long as new participants are attracted. Participants are counted only once no matter how many times they use the facilities. This should include people who attend a taster session or who make informal use of the facilities. Coaches and volunteers must not be counted unless they also participate in the activity. Where CCDP has funded equipment that is then used for outreach work, you would also count participants from your out reach work.
If you do not already have this information there are two main ways it can be collectedIf you work in partnership with a local authority, other clubs or organisations they may have a computerised system that will provide this data or be able to provide you with the figures.
Estimate based on known figures. For example during the 6 months since the CCDP project the club has run 4 taster days attracting 50 people each (Participants = 200). A school now uses the site four times a week with different classes averaging 30 in size (Participants = 120). And there was informal use by 6 5-a side groups each week (Participants = 60). The participants in this case could be estimated at 380.
We can help you come up with a way of calculating this figure so please just contact us.

Before CCDP will be: The number of participants between October 2005 and October 2006.
After CCDP will be: The number of participants between October 2006 and October 2007.
Example Approach B If the club opened in July 2007
